Image Resizer
Resize images to any pixel dimensions or percentage — aspect ratio lock keeps proportions intact.
Runs in your browser — nothing is uploadedAbout Image Resizer
Image Resizer changes the pixel dimensions of an image — for example to fit a website banner, a social media post, a passport photo requirement or an upload form. Enter an exact width and height in pixels or scale by percentage.
The aspect ratio lock keeps proportions intact so images do not look stretched. Resizing happens in your browser.
When to use it
- Meeting exact size requirements on application and exam forms.
- Preparing images for social media posts and profile pictures.
- Making photos smaller before emailing or uploading.
- Creating thumbnails for websites and stores.
Tips for better results
- Keep the aspect ratio locked unless a form requires exact dimensions.
- Shrinking keeps images sharp; enlarging small images makes them blurry.
- Use Image Cropper first if you need a different shape, then resize.
How to use the Image Resizer
- Drop your image.
- Enter the target width and height in pixels or percent.
- Lock or unlock the aspect ratio, then click Resize and download.
Frequently asked questions
What does the aspect ratio lock do?
When locked, changing the width automatically updates the height (and vice versa) to keep the original proportions.
Is the file uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser using the Canvas API.
Is there a file size limit?
The limit is shown in the drop area (typically 30–50 MB per image). It exists only to keep your browser responsive — the file is processed on your device and never uploaded. Very large photos are faster to process on a computer than on an older phone.
Will resizing reduce the file size?
Yes. Fewer pixels means a smaller file. For the smallest files, resize first and then compress.
