What is the Business Card Generator?
The Business Card Generator designs a print-ready business card at the standard size for your country, with an optional QR code that saves your contact to a phone. Print a sheet of cards with crop marks at home, or a PDF with 3 mm bleed for a print shop.
A business card (visiting card) puts your name, role, company and contact details in a format people can keep in a wallet. Even with phones everywhere, cards are still exchanged at meetings, trade shows and shop counters — and a QR code on the back lets the other person save your contact in one scan instead of typing it in.
Card sizes are not the same everywhere: 3.5 × 2 inches is standard in the US, Canada, Pakistan and India, 85 × 55 mm in Europe and the UK, 90 × 55 mm in Australia, 91 × 55 mm in Japan and 90 × 54 mm in China. This generator draws the card at its exact size in millimetres, so it prints true to size. Print a sheet of cards with crop marks on an office printer, or a single card with 3 mm bleed as a PDF for a professional print shop.
When to use it
- Freelancers, consultants and small business owners who need cards quickly.
- New employees waiting for official company cards.
- Trade shows, conferences and networking events.
- Shops, clinics and service providers handing cards to customers.
Tips for better results
- Keep it short: name, title, one phone number, email and website are usually enough.
- Use the QR code on the back for your contact (vCard) so people can save you in one scan.
- Print at 100% (actual size) on 300–350 gsm card stock; thin paper feels cheap.
- For a print shop, send the single-card PDF with bleed and ask for a proof before the full run.
How to use the Business Card Generator

Frequently asked questions
What size is a standard business card?
3.5 × 2 inches (88.9 × 50.8 mm) in the US, Canada, Pakistan and India; 85 × 55 mm in Europe, the UK and much of the Middle East; 90 × 55 mm in Australia; 91 × 55 mm in Japan; 90 × 54 mm in China.
What is bleed and do I need it?
Bleed is extra background (3 mm here) printed past the cut line so no white edge shows if the cut is slightly off. Print shops need it; for home printing on a sheet you can cut along the crop marks instead.
What does the QR code do?
Scanning it with a phone camera saves your name, company, phone numbers, email and website as a contact (vCard), or opens your website — your choice.
What is the difference between trim, bleed and safe area?
Trim is the final card size. Bleed is extra background past the trim (3 mm here) so a slightly uneven cut never shows a white edge. The safe area keeps text at least 3 mm inside the trim so nothing important is cut off.
How many cards fit on one sheet?
Ten 3.5 × 2 in or 85 × 55 mm cards fit on an A4 or US Letter sheet (2 across, 5 down), leaving a margin for the crop marks.
How do I print double-sided cards at home?
Print page 1 (fronts), put the sheet back in the printer to print page 2 (backs) on the other side — the backs are mirrored so they line up when you flip the sheet on its long edge. Do a test on plain paper first.
