Higher levels survive more damage or dirt but make the code denser. M suits most uses; use H for print on rough surfaces.
About Location QR Code
A location QR code opens a place on the scanner’s map app, ready for directions. It removes the confusion of hard-to-describe addresses and helps visitors find exact spots such as a back entrance, a parking area or an event site.
Create it from GPS coordinates, your current location or an address. A map link works on every phone, while the geo: format opens the default map app on devices that support it.
When to use it
- Wedding and event invitations.
- Shop flyers, delivery menus and business cards.
- Holiday rentals and guest houses.
- Large venues, campuses and construction sites with several entrances.
Tips for better results
- Use coordinates for the most precise point — addresses can be interpreted differently.
- Choose the map link format unless you know the geo: format suits your audience.
- Scan the code yourself before printing to confirm the pin lands on the right spot.
- Add a short label such as “Scan for directions” next to the code.
How to use the Location QR Code
- Enter coordinates, use your current location, or type an address.
- Choose a map link (works on all phones) or geo: format.
- Download or print the code.
Frequently asked questions
Are these QR codes free for commercial use?
Yes. Use them on menus, packaging, flyers, cards and websites — no sign-up, no watermark and no limits.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser; what you type is never sent to our servers.
Is my location sent anywhere?
"Use my current location" asks your browser for your position and only puts it in the QR code on your device. It isn't sent to our servers.
Map link or geo:?
The map link opens Google Maps on any phone. geo: opens the default maps app on Android but has limited support on iPhone.
How do I find the coordinates of a place?
In Google Maps, long-press (or right-click) the exact spot and the latitude and longitude appear. Copy them into the coordinate fields.
Does it open Google Maps or Apple Maps?
The map link opens in the browser or Google Maps on most phones. The geo: format lets the phone choose its default map app.
