What is the Time Zone Converter?

The Time Zone Converter shows what a date and time in one place is in other cities and time zones, with daylight saving handled automatically for that date, and a 24-hour meeting planner that highlights working hours in each place.

The Time Zone Converter shows what a given date and time in one place is in other cities and time zones — PST, EST, GMT, CET, IST, PKT, GST, JST, AEST and every other zone in the IANA time zone database. It uses the official rules for the exact date you pick, so daylight saving changes are always handled.

Add up to six places to compare at once. The meeting planner lists all 24 hours of the day side by side and highlights 9:00–17:00 in each place, which makes it easy to find a call time that suits everyone across countries.

When to use it

  • Scheduling calls and meetings with clients or teammates abroad.
  • Remote and freelance work across time zones.
  • Calling family overseas at a reasonable hour.
  • Catching live events, webinars and launches announced in another time zone.

Tips for better results

  • Check meetings near late March and late October–early November: Europe and North America change their clocks on different dates.
  • Say the city, not the abbreviation, when sending an invitation — IST and CST each mean several places.
  • Use UTC for technical logs and deadlines that involve many countries.

How to use the Time Zone Converter

  1. Pick the time zone and the date and time you want to convert (or press Use now).
  2. Add up to six places to compare.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Each conversion uses the official time zone rules for that exact date, so the result is right before and after clocks change — for example PST in winter and PDT in summer.

Why does IST or CST mean different places?

Abbreviations are shared: IST is India Standard Time but also Irish and Israel Standard Time, and CST is US Central or China Standard Time. Pick a city or region to be sure.

What is the time difference between PST and IST?

India (IST) is 13 hours 30 minutes ahead of US Pacific time in winter (PST) and 12 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer (PDT), because India does not use daylight saving time.

What is UTC?

Coordinated Universal Time is the world time standard that every zone is defined against — for example Pakistan is UTC+5 and New York is UTC−5 in winter.
